Who this suits

Anyone who has not reviewed their loan in two or more years. Professionals whose income has grown or changed shape since the loan was written. Homeowners who want to release equity for a renovation, an investment or a business move. People whose fixed rate is about to expire.

How the process works

We start with a health check on your current loan: the rate, the structure, the features you use and the ones you pay for but do not. Then we compare what the market would offer you today, including what your current lender would offer if you asked.

If switching makes sense, we manage the new application, the valuation and the discharge of the old loan. If staying makes sense, we tell you that too, and often negotiate with your current lender instead. The goal is the right outcome, not a change for its own sake.

What lenders look for

The same fundamentals as a new loan: income, expenses, debts and the property. Your repayment history on the current loan matters, and a clean record strengthens the application. Lenders also look at your equity, because more equity usually means sharper pricing.

Costs to weigh include discharge fees, application fees and any break costs on a fixed rate. We put the full comparison in front of you, including the break even point, before you decide.

What you will typically need

  • Your current loan statements
  • Two recent payslips, or contracts and invoices for contractors
  • Rates notice for the property
  • Bank statements for everyday accounts
  • Statements for other debts, cards and leases
  • Tax returns and financials if you are self employed or a partner

Common questions

How much can refinancing save me?
On a typical professional loan, a rate improvement of half a percent is worth thousands a year. The exact figure depends on your balance, rate and remaining term. Our health check gives you a real number in minutes.
How long does refinancing take?
Commonly two to four weeks from application to settlement. Discharge from the old lender is usually the slowest step, and we chase it so you do not have to.
Can I refinance if my income has changed?
Usually yes. A new contract, a practice purchase or a move to self employment changes which lenders fit, not whether you can borrow. Presenting the change clearly is the work.
What does refinancing cost?
Typical costs are a discharge fee from the old lender, an application or settlement fee at the new one, and government charges. Break costs apply if you are inside a fixed rate. We total them before you commit.
Should I fix my rate when I refinance?
It depends on your plans and your tolerance for movement. Fixed rates give certainty, variable rates give flexibility, and a split gives some of both. We model the options with real numbers.
